PRINCIPLES OF TRANSPARENCY AND ANTIPLAGIARISM

The editorial board of JOMSA is committed to upholding high academic and ethical standards in line with the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing

All submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere. Authors are solely responsible for ensuring the authenticity and originality of their submissions. To safeguard academic integrity, each manuscript is subjected to a plagiarism screening process via StrikePlagiarism platform. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarized content, whether through unreferenced textual borrowing or duplication of previously published material, will be automatically rejected by the editorial committee. Any form of plagiarism including excessive text reuse, improper citations, or misappropriation of research results is deemed unethical and unacceptable. If a manuscript includes fragments or statements derived from other works, authors must provide accurate and complete bibliographic references, clearly identifying the author and the primary source.

The editorial committee strictly enforces these standards to ensure that JOMSA maintains the highest levels of scholarly credibility and ethical publishing practice.

PROCESS OF PEER-REVIEWING

All submitted manuscripts go through double-blind peer review. We strongly recommend that all reviewers get acquainted with and follow COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers.

The first step is to verify that the manuscript is prepared according to the rules described in the Author’s Guidelines. During this review step, all articles are checked for plagiarism.

The next step is to send the manuscript and review form to the reviewer. The reviewer refuses to review if considers that his qualification is insufficient or inappropriate for the direction of research. Reviewing is carried out within no more than seven days from the date of receipt of the article by the reviewer. The reviewer must provide a timely review to the editorial board of the journal.

After an expert evaluation of the article, the reviewer may recommend one of the following actions:

  • Acceptance without revisions: the manuscript is ready for publication in its current form;
  • Accept with minor changes: requires the author to make small adjustments based on reviewer comments;
  • Accept with major changes: indicates that substantial changes are needed before further evaluation;
  • Rejection: accompanied with a clear explanation for why the manuscript is not suitable for publication.

Based on the results of the manuscript review process, the first editorial decision is provided to the authors no later than 35 days after submission. If revisions are required, the article is returned to the authors along with the reviewer’s comments, without revealing their anonymity

The revised manuscript is then evaluated to ensure that the authors have adequately addressed the comments and/or sent for re-review.

The final decision on whether to publish the article is made by the editor-in-chief, considering the received reviews and the results of the plagiarism check.

SUBMISSIONS

JOMSA accepts original research articles for publication in an online format, as all manuscripts must be written in English (US).

Submitted articles must be original, not previously published, and not under consideration by another journal. Authors are solely responsible to ensure the novelty, validity, and reliability of the research and results presented.
