This article presents the possibilities of forming regional development policy through the prism of environmental improvement through waste management and remediation. The focus of the study is the ever-increasing amount of waste generated by people's living activities, production and trade, necessitates taking measures to reduce their total amount, reuse them and increase their recycling and recovery. At the same time, the article analyses the possibilities for the development of waste treatment technologies, the increasing possibilities for the use of waste as an alternative raw material and energy source and the reduction of the amount destined for landfill. As a consequence of these trends, interstate cooperation to solve waste management problems is increasingly intensifying and this is the focus of this paper.Downloads
